LLB Curriculum helps in understanding law, legal ethics, and practice in flexible structure. The core courses offered during first year are Foundations to Law, Legal Research and Writing, Contracts, Torts etc. and during remaining years the core courses include Administrative Law, Company Law, Evidence, Civil Procedures, and Conflict of Laws etc. There are also few optional courses offered which are Aboriginal Law, Family Law, Health Law, Military Law, International Law etc.


The MBA/LLB joint program is a three-part process and offered within a four year period i.e. it takes one year less than taking each degree separately. The Application procedure involves Application and admission to the MBA program, Application and admission to the Faculty of Law, and Application and admission to the combined MBA/LLB program.


To get admission at Faculty of Law, a regular or international applicant must have an undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta or from a recognized University and have written the Law School Admission Test within a five year period. A mature applicant must be 35 years of age, need to provide evidence of minimum of five years past achievements in non-academic areas. For Part-time Study, students have five–year period to complete their LLB but the first year is usually done as full time study.
